Responsibilities

The Mission of Sanofi’s MSL Team and the Executive Medical Science Liaison is to be the trusted scientific partners in the field for external experts and decision-makers; engaging in mutual scientific exchanges to accelerate data dissemination.  Sanofi’s Medical Field base teams enhance the understanding of the scientific and medical value of our products in the therapeutic area and gather new insights by bringing cutting edge scientific exchange today that accelerates medical innovation tomorrow.

The Executive MSL is a key partner to policy makers internally and externally and creates impact to the strategic plans of the medical function resulting from deep and meaningful partnerships both internally and externally 

The Executive Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is primarily a field-facing role whose main objectives are to:

  • Be the trusted scientific partner to influential external experts and decision-makers by conducting timely, appropriate and frequent scientific exchanges to enhance the understanding of the scientific and medical value of our products.

  • Develops robust stakeholder engagement plans to gather data, develop and share medical insights that contribute to enhancement of Sanofi’s key medical messages, plans and future research.

  • Exhibits a high degree of scientific and clinical knowledge in the therapeutic field to help identify and critically assess research opportunities and to play a supportive role in the execution of evidence generation plans to enhance the value of our products in a real-world setting.

  • Use innovative approaches to increase opportunities and create strategies to uncover insights that deepen our understanding of the needs of patients, consumers, regulators, payers, and healthcare providers and proactively identifies unmet needs.

  • Is a strategic partner who drives collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, while maintaining full compliance with relevant company, industry, legal and regulatory requirements

  • Assists on coaching MSLs on KOL engagement and communication, and tactical plan development.

  • Demonstrates operational understanding and risk management by ensuring excellence in execution of all governance processes

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, Pharm D,)

Experience

  • More than 5 years of experience in medical affairs, rheumatology/immunology preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years MSL Experience (3+ years at a Senior Level)

  • Experience in local, regional, and global medical function roles

  • Proven leadership of project teams in MSL and cross functional groups

  • Experience in planning MSL activity and defining MSL governance

  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse groups KOL, Payers, HCP, patient groups, medical societies and policy groups

  • Familiarity with the use of HCP mapping systems and digital engagement platforms

  • Ability to mentor and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders

The salary range for this position is $140,250.00 - $187,000.00 USD Annual. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
