Position Summary:
The Sanofi Patient Support Services (PSS) team is focused on enabling patient access to Sanofi therapies by providing reimbursement navigation, logistics support, financial assistance, and patient education.
Sanofi offers several programs across a number of therapeutic areas. In addition, Sanofi is expected to launch new products and new indications for existing products that will require the design and launch of additional patient support services in the next few years.
The Lead, PSS is a highly visible role that will have strategic and operational oversight for PSS services at Sanofi Specialty Care Canada that enable patient access to therapy and deliver operational excellence. He/She/They will work with cross-functional colleagues and external vendors to design, implement, manage and track performance for patient support programs across the product lifecycle. This role will also represent PSS at both local and global meetings. The candidate must be solution-oriented, operationally savvy, creative and highly organized, and demonstrate the ability to work cross-functionally. The Lead, PSS will report to the Head, Patient Support Services, Sanofi Specialty Care Canada. The position is based in North York, ON.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead therapeutic area, cross-functional PSS planning and operational excellence across the product lifecycle (e.g. new product launches, new public and private reimbursement coverage, and loss of exclusivity) in alignment with the brand’s strategic goals.
Apply vendor management and internal collaboration best practices to ensure effective partnerships and communications.
Ability to objectively evaluate the operational effectiveness of the program and make the necessary modifications to improve the design of the program to maximize physician and patient satisfaction.
Ensure vendor deliverables, timelines, and budgets are maintained according to contract terms and identify opportunities to evolve further vendor partnership excellence.
Develop, manage and report on PSS spend, represent PSS in annual budget plans, lead/support the management of customer SOWs/contracts.
Monitor and report on PSS performance metrics, and continuously assess performance and program delivery against business needs. Identify external and internal factors impacting performance and create solutions to address them.
Monitor changes in the external environment and product portfolio to ensure services evolve to ensure patients’ continued access to therapy.
Ability to identify and measure the lead success indicators for the program.
Demonstrates ability to flex and prioritize in response to changing business needs.
Ensure PSS programs are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidance with Sanofi policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a customer-centric role, including 8+ years of relevant experience working with Patient Support Services; both pharmaceutical manufacturer and PSS vendor experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience leading the cross-functional development, implementation and ongoing management of PSS and new solutions to ensure programs enable patient access to therapy; experience piloting new PSS digital capabilities is an asset.
Experience managing PSS operations across various stages of the product lifecycle (e.g. new product launches, new public and private reimbursement coverage, and loss of exclusivity).
Strong financial acumen and hands on budget management experience.
Demonstrated experience leading operational efficiency and effectiveness initiatives that improve patient access to therapy.
Strong cross-functional leadership/management and analytical skills, and experience establishing program performance metrics.
Experience partnering with Legal, procurement and other key stakeholders to develop and maintain PSS contracts.
Proven ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority.
Proven ability to communicate and present effectively to senior leaders, cross-functional and cross-organizational teams in a matrix environment.
Excellent writing, excel, power point and organizational skills required.
Bilingual is an asset (English/French).
