SUMMARY OF PURPOSE/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all site wide equipment in order to maintain a quality Class A environment in GMP and non GMP facilities at the Swiftwater site.

This position will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operations of the Central Utilities Systems at Swiftwater. The candidate must possess knowledge of boiler maintenance, industrial chilled water systems, and/or wastewater operations. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to operate and troubleshoot all central utilities systems in accordance to applicable environmental and safety standards.

This position reports to and supports the area team Maintenance Manager or Deputy Director who is ultimately responsible for the efficient, effective, and reliable operation of all equipment in their area.

The Maintenance Technician will have interactions with all levels of the organization including HSE, Industrial Operations, Engineering, contractors, R&D, Mtech, and various other support groups.

CONTEXT OF THE JOB/MAJOR CHALLENGES

• Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting and improved equipment maintenance/reliability strategies to optimize safe, compliant, and efficient operations of process equipment.

• Preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial and process equipment including the following:

  • Electricity including single phase and 3 phase 480V

  • Electronics

  • Air Handling Unit Operations

  • Tensioning of belts and alignment

  • Bearing replacement

  • Knowledge of VFD’s, VAV’s,

  • Motor replacement and alignment

  • Pump repairs, rebuilds, replacement

  • Replacement of valves and piping system repairs

  • Knowledge of SAP

• Central Utilities Maintenance and Operations

  • Schematics and the ability to read blueprints

  • Knowledge of steam system principals, operations and maintenance

  • Boiler chemistry, combustion tuning, and inspections

  • Knowledge of chilled water system principals, operations and maintenance

  • Knowledge of waste water system principals, operations and maintenance

  • Waste Water chemistry compliance sampling

REQUIREMENTS

Education/experience

• The Maintenance Technician is expected to have 0 to 5 years experience and a working knowledge of industrial and utility equipment.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in a specific trade program is preferred
