Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading business strategy development, deployment, and execution to achieve Net Sales, Profit and market share objectives.
  • Communicates key strategies, insights, and initiatives between field and internal teams. Initiates and coordinates across a matrix environment to support goal achievement and gain cross-functional alignments.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Brand Marketing and other staff functions to optimize customer execution in line with strategic brand and category objectives.
  • Responsible for leading business strategy development, deployment, and execution to achieve Net Sales, Profit and market share objectives.
  • Leads the collaboration that partners with Sales and Marketing in launch/product strategies, development, selling materials, execution, and monitoring to achieve financial and brand objectives.
  • Actively leads the participation in the development of materials in support of strategic retailer line reviews.
  • Understands competitive promotion and pricing in the marketplace and works with Marketing, and Sales Leadership to recommend appropriate action on national, channel, and account-specific strategies.
  • Translate BU objectives and strategies into sales and channel-specific strategies and objectives
  • Represent customer and field voice in internal, cross-functional meetings.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and measurement of strategy on : Assortment, Merchandising, and Pricing.
  • Partners with category on the development of Shelving recommendations and category assortment strategies. 
  • Supports innovation development process by gathering customer feedback, establishing selling stories and customer targets.
  • Ensure that channel-specific strategies and innovations are being developed by the BUs (e.g., club-specific SKUs, etc.) - work with the BUs and marketing to enhance this process.
  • Provide sales input into the marketing/innovation team regarding product development (e.g., pricing, pack size, etc.) - maintain the cross-channel view for new product and brand launches.
  • Build a new product launch plan (i.e., sell deck) - to articulate where we are going first with new products, right pricing, ship dates, etc.
  • Help shape the innovation pipeline by providing relevant insights into the R&D process (e.g., shopper insights, shelving, etc.) - especially for product design and packaging design
  • Own the customer planning process and oversee the development of plan creation (e.g., guidance provided by finance, input from the BU based on priorities, sales creating customer-specific plans, etc.).
  • Active participant in monthly S&OP meetings and provides high-level commentary into monthly forecast process based on monthly account demand calls.

About You

  • B.A. / B.S. degree required.
  • 8 + years of proven delivery in CPG, preferably within OTC/Healthcare and Personal Care, both top and bottom-line results required. Excellent business acumen; proficient category & segment knowledge.
  • 3+ years Sales Strategy experience preferred. Extensive macro U.S. trade channel experience to include shopper journeys, eComm, syndicated and shopper data. Proficient in all functional areas to include demand planning, business analysis, finance, shopper insights, etc.
  • A strong leader with demonstrated Sales and Sales Strategy experience with a general management mindset and capabilities. 
  • Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams and managing significant volume of projects.
