About the job

Our M&S ambition is to build a modern, industry leading manufacturing & supply network, bringing together, talented people and cutting-edge process technologies and data to reliably deliver high-quality, affordable & sustainable medicines and vaccines. A core capability of M&S is fast-to-market new product launch.

The M&S Team has decided to create a dedicated Product Launch organization to oversee and ensure a successful execution of new product launches, to globalize the Strategy organization to meet the GBU expectations while optimizing the one Sanofi M&S network and to globalize the Operational excellence Org. to accelerate the modernization of our Smart Factories.

Main responsibilities:

In an environment of openness & collaboration, the Operational Excellence business partner maximizes the contribution of its global function within M&S GBU as well as other functions in Sanofi. In a matrix organization, the Head of M&SOperational Excellence will be a key partner of the GBU Head, ensuring high standards and working with common technology, tools, systems, for the good of One Sanofi. 

The head of M&S Operational Excellence will be part of the M&S GBU Leadership Team aligning M&S GBU expectations and ways of working withthe one sanofi M&S network.

Leading the performance ambition settingprocess for the GBU, by:

  • Conducting internal/external benchmarks (e.g., Pobos) to identify gaps/opportunities.

  • Driving the performance workstream during Strat Plan and Budget to define targets

  • Cascading ambition into relevant KPI trajectories (e.g., cost, productivity, yield & scrap, cycle time, supplier excellence, etc.)

Developing and owning the GBUperformance roadmap, by:

  • Defining in collaboration with the GBU leader and her/his leadership team (Site / cluster heads and Business Partners of Global Functions) the integrated portfolio of initiatives (incl. performance, standardization, smart factories) necessary to deliver GBU performance ambition,

  • Defining GBU digital roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders (digital and GF) and enabling execution

  • Continuously prioritizing initiatives to maximize the “resource-benefit” equation,

Driving execution of the GBU performance roadmap and stimulating value realization, by:

  • Supporting sites by deploying GBU Transformation Leaders on priority plants/initiatives (e.g., boosters, SMS 2.0, digital, etc.)

  • Partnering with Global Functions to provide targeted expertise to site & GBU teams

  • Driving change management to ensure value capture (i.e., operational KPI=>3P=>P&L)

Orchestrating the GBUperformance governance, by:

  • Leading the performance reviews for the GBU

  • Monitoring progress vs. ambition and taking corrective actions

  • Representing the GBU in global performance forums

Developing high performing teams, by:

  • Expanding Operational Excellence and Digital knowledge(e.g., data, AI)

  • Promoting transformation and change management capabilities at all levels

  • Identifying and developing talents

About you 

Experience

  • Previous experience in Operational Excellence and/or Transformation roles in large organizations, with proven track record in driving change and achieving lasting and measurable impact 

  • Senior functional or line management role in large complex industrial environments, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders  

  • Exposure to consulting, both as a client or a consultant, is a plus 

Soft skills

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of the main Operational Excellence techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Agile etc.)

  • Experience of performance transformation in industrial environment (e.g., productivity, organization, procurement, etc.), complemented by strong change management expertise

  • Experience in data analytics/visualization and data modelling 

  • Familiarity with strategic and financial elements (e.g., P&L, cash flow, NPV, etc.)  

Languages: Fluent in English is a must
