The Bioprocess Engineering & Data Analytics (BEDA) group, which supports the Global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department, develops and uses advanced systems, sensors, and process technologies to enable Sanofi to better understand, monitor, control, and plan its biologics manufacturing operations. This group is highly cross functional in its interactions across research and manufacturing and provides scientific, technical, engineering expertise to these organizations. The position will support manufacturing and other internal groups with development and implementation of new methodologies and technologies for improved process understanding and robust control strategies. The incumbent will ensure that the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance are maintained in the workplace; and operate under the regulatory requirements for product development and manufacturing.
POSITION OVERVIEW / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Process Engineer will work on a wide range of projects across Sanofi's Specialty Care Operations (SCO) division including:
·Maintaining, improving, utilizing, and documenting data analysis tools and process databases
·Working with customers to ensure that these tools meet their needs
·Supporting efforts to ensure data system compliance
·Training users and resolving user requests and issues
·Modeling and troubleshooting large scale manufacturing processes (including cell culture, chromatography, filtration, and lyophilization)
·Supporting process scale-up and technology transfer efforts across multiple sites
·M.S. degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline with 0 - 2 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry or B.S. degree and 2-4 years experience.
·Demonstrated capability to apply engineering principles to real world problem solving, as well as the ability to grasp the underlying technical essentials and business needs. Multidisciplinary knowledge of wide range of scientific and engineering principles is highly desirable.
·Demonstrated ability to develop modeling and experimental approaches to address scientific queries, analyze data, and draw conclusions through independent thinking and collaboration with team members.
·Training/experience in data analysis, programming, and modeling.
·Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
·Experience with advanced data analysis/programming and statistics tools (SQL, VB.NET, VBA, JMP, Matlab, Statistica) is preferred.
·Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional and cross-network teams is desired.
·Experience performing deviation closure and CAPA activities is desired.
·Knowledge of basic statistics is desired.
·Background in BioProcessing, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or cGMP experience is preferred.
