Position Title: Project Controls Deputy Director - Vaccine

Mission:
The Deputy Director of Project Controls (PC) represents Regional Engineering on capital projects at the Toronto, CA site. The key responsibility is to provide expertise on estimating, cost and schedule management for capital projects. This position may have dotted-line relationship with Finance.
Regional Engineering PC support is responsible for large or more complex scopes of work. Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of project controls to include; cost management, scheduling, estimating, change management, EVMS and benchmarking metrics. This specific role will be managing the construction and CQV of a very large (>400M€) GMP vaccine manufacturing building.
Key Accountabilities:
Highly skilled in Cost Management, Scheduling and Earned Value Management System (progress reporting).
Demonstrated experience in projects >$200M, preferably with pharma or biotech.
Thorough knowledge of SAP and project financial reporting.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of financial policies and procedures associated with capital projects.
Knowledge of purchasing procedures and bid analysis.
Demonstrated experience leading internal and external PC resources on complex projects.
Oversee preparation of funding estimates and schedule for new projects. Facilitate risk analysis.
Review and approve all schedule and financial data included in the funding requests,
Responsible for ensuring PC project deliverables, such as; monthly reports, trending, change management, cashflow projections, work-in-place (WIP), value engineering, etc.
DD will perform audits to insure man-hours and progress being reported is accurate. Deviations from budgets or schedules are evaluated for the cause and the solutions are proposed to the project manager.
Experience with coaching & mentoring of junior staff.
Ensure compliance with Sanofi Pasteur Global Engineering Guidelines (GEGs) for project controls, and site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while supporting Project directives.
Consistently work in a safe manner, respecting the Sanofi Values of Act for Change, Strive for Results, Commit to Customers, and Cooperate Transversally.
Education & Experience:
BS required in engineering or related discipline with >15 years of experience
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service mind-set is critical to success in this role
This position requires strong analytical skills and problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Must be well versed in SAP software and have high degree of project financial liaison experience
Expert in excel application
