We are seeking a highly motivated medical doctor to join the Global Clinical Sciences team of Sanofi Pasteur.
The position of Head Global Clinical Franchise serves as the Department’s Research & Development Physician is expected to provide essential, knowledge & experienced-based translational, medical and scientific guidance to accomplish early and late product development and lifecycle management of vaccines. In this role the Head Global Clinical Franchise he/she will be responsible for the coordination and management of physician scientists within the Clinical Department, and will serve cross-functionally in a leadership capacity to ensure that key product ambitions, both business and scientific, are consistently accounted for in the clinical development plan
The incumbent will contribute to Clinical Development activities that span across all vaccine projects globally within the Franchise. The position is responsible for ensuring a timely and consistent approach to the development of candidate vaccines within a specific Franchise and across Franchises by ensuring disciplined and robust strategy definition across all clinical trials . The key stakeholders the role will interact will be Global Clinical Dev Strategy Experts, Sr Global Clinical Dev Strategy Experts, Translational Medicine Experts, Preclinical antigen Design and Global Immunology groups, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Global Medical Affairs and directly manage clinical development research staff involved in Phase I - IV trials. He/she also serves as a primary contact with the FDA and other regulatory agencies, the medical community as well as potential funding agencies in regard to medical/clinical and scientific issues. In his/her activities the Head Global Clinical Franchise will also play an important ambassadorial role and will develop networks in order to forge key working relationships internally and externally. This position will, at a high scientific strategic level, represent the Company within the scientific and medical research community through involvement in international scientific meetings and through professional publications.
The candidate will report to Global head of clinical development. This exciting role will afford candidates the opportunity to be intimately involved in clinical strategy, and all stages of operational clinical development. This position will report to Global head of clinical development. Sanofi US is only considering candidates who are currently legally eligible to work in the U.S. Company-paid relocation benefits are being provided for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Preferred: M.D. with relevant experience or specialization in line with Sanofi Pasteur’s portfolio (Infectious Diseases / Preventive Vaccines), or PhD with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Clinical Development of Vaccines (Infectious Diseases).
A background in clinical immunology is welcome
Experience with working according to GCP/ICH guidelines
Excellent interpersonal skills, experience with leading and managing transversal teams
Ability to work in a diverse environment with different stakeholders
Considerable degree of autonomy
Ability to act for change, empower themselves and others.
Good command of oral and written English
