CONTEXT

Sanofi is recruiting a Global Medical Lead for Type 1 diabetes in the Insulin team. The Global Medical Lead will report directly to the Global Medical Head of Insulins, General Medicines GBU

  • The role functions internally as the expert of type 1 diabetes to lead the medical affairs activities and execution of the franchise and product strategies as integrated in global medical plan

  • Essential to success is productive partnership with Commercial, Market Access and Digital Health Care and other cross-functional teams to maximize the value proposition of assets related to Type 1 diabetes

  • Externally, collaboration and support of health care professionals, people with type 1 diabetes and their associations and payers are key to optimize care and treatment outcomes through evidence-based decisions

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Leading Global Type 1 diabetes medical activities and projects and act as a medical lead in cross-functional projects

  • Developing and executing a highly efficient, global medical affairs/scientific plan as part of the integrated franchise/product plan(s) with all key stakeholders in close collaboration with key countries (‘glocal’ approach)

  • Searching for and evaluate innovating opportunities within the type 1 diabetes to enhance the value of diabetes portfolio

  • Partner with key stakeholders to utilize the opportunities from digital health care for patients with type 1 diabetes

  • Reviewing and approving medical and scientific content of materials for Regulatory, Safety, Scientific Communication, Medical Affairs, and Commercial purposes

  • Providing leadership and strategic directions to the country medical teams in interactions and communications with external customers, key organizations, and institutions

  • Ensuring key market country and regions perspectives and local insights are captured when developing the global strategy and activities for type 1 diabetes as applicable

  • Pro-actively providing guidance to global marketing team including insights, recent developments and competitor activities and treatment practices and guidelines in type 1 diabetes

  • Interacting with experts at medical meetings, advisory boards, and face-to-face interactions and maintain and strengthen Sanofi reputation in insulin field

PROFILE 

Education/professional experience

  • Medical degree

  • Prior experience in type 1 diabetes is an advantage

  • Industry experience in Medical Affairs/R&D >5 years

  • Sound scientific and clinical judgment, including in-depth understanding of development, the scientific methods and clinical applications based on medical, scientific, and practical rationale

  • Excellent skills working with experts from other functions and countries and influencing decision making

  • An absolute commitment to ethical standards and compliance

  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical data results and information to internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with the cross-functional teams

  • A team player; able to collaborate successfully with both internal and external colleagues

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral English
