Sanofi entities in Canada include the General Medicines Business Unit, Sanofi Pasteur (vaccines), Sanofi Genzyme (specialty care) and Sanofi Consumer Health. Position Summary:

General Medicine GBU combines the product portfolios in Diabetes, Cardiovascular and Transplant therapeutic areas. Canada is a part of a broader Innovate to Grow business segment within the General Medicines GBU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and supervises the execution of medical strategic plans and oversees the implementation of medical affairs activities in the country.
  • Leads the development & oversees execution of Global BU product and life cycle medical strategy at the Country level.
  • Articulates the medical value of the BU
  • Leads the transformation of medical organization in alignment with evolving business model.
  • Leads the medical team, promotes and ensures talents development, anticipates and builds required competencies and skills.
  • Drives the medical affairs activities for prelaunch, launch and post-launch products ; ensures optimal life cycle management for all products in partnership with Research, Clinical Development, Commercial, Health Economics, Value and Access and Product Management functions.
  • Evolves organizations to align with strategy in disruptive environment (digital), ensuring adequate resources assignment, cost control and manages performance of function.
  • Builds external partnerships with health care partners, scientific organizations and patient advocacy groups.
  • Ensures governance & compliance rules and risk management plans are implemented in accordance with organizational requirements and local regulation.
  • Provides scientific and medical intelligence on the business landscape to anticipate key trends.
  • Leads country evidence data generation strategy, plan and execution.
  • Ensure scientific data dissemination is appropriate, timely and in line with company as well as country legal, regulatory and ethical norms.
  • Act as final medical signatory for materials, both promotional and non-promotional and ensure that all internal Sanofi standards and external industry codes are adhered.

Key Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD)
  • Scientific/health related degree is acceptable if supported by significant experience in key therapeutic areas (Diabetes, Cardiovascular).
  • Pharma Industry experience of ideally > 10 years in medical affairs.
  • Ability and track record of leading, managing and developing teams.
  • Track record of change management in disruptive environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Heath System and Market.
  • Preferred knowledge of specific products and related therapeutic areas, including key opinion leaders.
  • Strong KOL management.
  • Ability to translate strategy into operational excellence.
  • Ability to work across diverse functional teams and in alliance.
  • Detailed knowledge of Regulatory guidelines, Medicines Act and the Human Medicines Regulations, Industry Codes of Practice and experience of their implementation within the business environment.
  • Principles and practice of medical affairs including clinical trial design, management, analysis and reporting, including GCP.
  • Experience of setting, balancing, and managing a budget to target.
  • Experience in working in multicultural environment.
  • Analytic and synthetic capacity.
  • Leadership, teamwork, flexibility, rigor, open mind, respect for others, ability to listen to customer needs.
  • Project focused, results oriented.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present scientific data in a credible manner.
  • English written and spoken: Advanced
  • French written and spoken: Intermediate.
  • Show support for the protection of health, safety and the environment by presenting exemplary behavior and by contributing to the HSE objectives achievement

Sommaire du poste :

La GBU Médecine Générale regroupe les portefeuilles de produits de Sanofi dans les domaines thérapeutiques suivant : diabète, maladies cardiovasculaires, dyslipidémie, transplantation. Le Canada fait partie d'un segment d’activité plus large dit « Innovate to Grow » au sein de la GBU Médecine générale, et qui se concentre exclusivement sur une sélection de produits définis comme des « actifs clés ».

Principales responsabilités et fonctions de poste :

  • Elaborer et mettre en exécution la stratégie médicale soutenant les objectifs stratégiques de la BU.

  • S’assurer que toutes les activités nécessitant une contribution de la fonction médicale (Marketing, Ventes et Promotion, Pharmacovigilance, Affaires Règlementaires, l’Informations Médicale etc.), soient menées à bien conformément aux règles internes et aux cadres réglementaires, éthiques et légaux définies par les autorités compétentes.

Principales exigences de ce poste :

  • Formation Médicale (MD).

  • Formation Scientifique ou Pharmaceutique ou Master dans le domaine de la Santé acceptés, si appuyés par une expérience confirmée.

  • Expérience significative dans l’industrie pharmaceutique (idéalement supérieure à 10 ans dans les Affaires Médicales).

  • Connaissance détaillée des directives réglementaires, de la loi sur les médicaments et du règlement sur les médicaments à usage humain, des règlements de pratique de l'industrie et des procédures opérationnelles standard, et expérience de leur mise en œuvre dans un environnement commercial.

  • Connaissance du système de santé et du marché pharmaceutique du Canada.

  • Principes et pratique des affaires médicales, y compris la conception, la gestion, l'analyse et les rapports d'essais cliniques, y compris les bonnes pratiques cliniques (BPC).

  • Connaissance privilégiée des aires thérapeutiques, de produits des, et des principaux leaders d'opinion dans les domaines thérapeutiques concernés.

  • Compétence dans la gestion des experts (KOL).

  • Expérience professionnelle dans un environnement international.

  • Bonne capacité d’analyse et de synthèse.

  • Capacité à traduire la stratégie en excellence opérationnelle.

  • Excellence dans la gestion de projets.

  • Excellentes compétences en communication et en présentation permettant notamment de présenter des données scientifiques de manière professionnelle et crédible.

  • Français écrit et oral : Excellent

    Anglais écrit et oral : Intermédiaire
