We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a member of the BioProcess Analytics team which is part of Biologics Development, based in Framingham, MA.  The Senior Research Associate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team on multiple projects to support development and optimization of analytical methods, including some routine testing, for R&D programs within Sanofi:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize ELISAs and other binding assays, impurity assays such as detection of host cell proteins (HCP), and other residual process impurities (e.g. rDNA, detergents etc.) to support CMC programs in early and late stage research
  • Support preclinical studies for programs not limited to the Oncology, Immunology & Inflammation, and Rare disease franchises.
  • Support in-process analytical method development and in-process matrix qualification for R&D Drug development activities.
  • Support the training of additional operators and the establishment of new methods and processes to support these platforms.
  • Independently document experimental results in technical reports and effectively communicate results in project team meetings where needed.
  • Manage work assignments, analyze and interpret test results, and conduct necessary troubleshooting under the supervision of the manager.
  • Maintain good communication and collaboration with internal and external colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience or a Master's degree
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Be self-motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work according to timelines
  • Experience with performing Host cell protein and Host cell DNA, impurity-based ELISA and qPCR assays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with executing assays in a GLP/GxP regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
  • Hands-on experience in automation equipment (Tecan, Hamilton)
  • Experience in method qualification, laboratory automation, and automated data processing
  • Basic understanding of chromatographic techniques (specifically HPLC)
