Job Responsibilities / Department Description:
Sanofi is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the Analytical Development team in Bioanalytics, which develops, validates, and transfers analytical methods used for characterization and release of biologics. The successful candidate will participate in the development and validation of molecular and cell-based analytical methods, including cell culture, PCR, western analysis and additional cell-based assays. Specifically, this individual will assist in engineering cell lines for use in cell-based assays and will participate in testing of pre-clinical and clinical lot release and stability testing of biotherapeutics, including gene therapy products, enzymes, antibody and antibody-like therapeutics. Additionally, this job is within a cGMP setting and requires excellent verbal and written communication across several departments.
Engineering of cell lines to support potency assay development for both Mammalian and Genomic Medicines Groups
Participate in the development, qualification and validation of cell-based bioassays, binding assays, molecular assays, and potentially other analytical methods in a regulated GMP environment
Working in a GMP-compliant environment and adhering to all regulations.
Draft technical reports and effectively communicate results in project team meetings when needed.
Ensure timely completion and delivery of all analytical results and documentation (technical reports, SOPs, ELN, LIMS, etc.) to support product development during clinical phases. of milestones associated with specific projects including timely delivery of analytical reports, documents, SOPs and electronic lab notebook entries.
Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or master's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
Organized, efficient and able to work according to timelines
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.
Must have permanent US work authorization Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication between departments and colleagues.
Ability to interpret scientific data and articulate conclusions.
Experience with routine mammalian cell culture techniques including aseptic technique
Experience with molecular biology techniques such as genetic engineering and PCR analysis.
Experience with cell-based or binding assay method development in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, FRET or cell-based effector function assays is a plus
Prior experience/exposure to immunological concepts and assays.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and JMP
