Responsibilities

This position resides within the BioProcess Analytics group which is part of the Global Biologics CMC Development organization at Sanofi, Framingham, MA.  The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing analytical support to a strong pipeline of R&D programs within Sanofi during early and late stage process development.

We are looking for a skilled, highly motivated individual with expertise in chemistry/biochemistry who works well in a team-setting to meet project and development goals within established timelines. The Research Associate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on multiple projects to support development and optimization of novel analytical methods, including routine testing, for R&D programs within Sanofi.  This entry level position will offer the ideal candidate the opportunity to explore and grow their skills in several analytical disciplines while working with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • Support development of cutting-edge technologies and analytical method platforms such as HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, cIEF, capillary electrophoresis, binding assays and/or physicochemical-based methods depending on project needs.

  • Provide analytical testing support in a variety of testing platforms, in a non-GMP setting, supporting R&D Biologics Development.

  • Manage work assignments, analyze and interpret test results, and conduct necessary troubleshooting under the supervision of the manager.

  • Assist in the drafting on technical reports, study protocols, and results and effectively communicate progress and results with the team.

  • Maintain good communication and collaboration with internal colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline

  • Basic understanding of physicochemical methods (e.g., HPLC, CE).

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment.

  • Well-organized, strong scientific curiosity, self-motivated, hard-working and detail-oriented individual able to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as independently.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC, electrophoresis (e.g. capillary electrophoresis, cIEF) or other protein separation techniques.

  • Basics understanding in data processing software such as Empower, Chromeleon, or OpenLab.

  • Experience with executing assays in a GLP/GxP regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.

  • Experience in automated liquid handlers.

  • Experience with impurity-based assays including ELISA and qPCR
