Responsibilities
Position/Department Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Data Scientist to join our Data Sciences group. Data Science is part of the Global CMC Development organization in Sanofi R&D. We provide cutting edge capability in the area of data analytics and computer science to support the process development activities from molecule selection to technological transfer to our commercial organization. The Data Sciences team is seeking an Associate Director with expertise in data engineering to support the CMC activities in the US, across our Boston area sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with project teams in CMC to support development activities such as process design, optimization, control strategy definition
Develop automated data analytics workflow for data visualization, process monitoring and predictive analytics
Implement and deploy machine learning / multivariate models to drive novel insight for process development activities
Key contributor to the Data Science strategy definition, thought leader and change agent
Lead development teams to implement data analytics platform solutions for the Global CMC organization
Issue technical reports summarizing conclusion of data analyses and recommendations for process improvements.
Represent Sanofi externally at relevant conferences or consortia.
Core contributor to the Advanced analytics strategy, as part of our global digital transformation program.
Basic Qualifications:
PhD in data sciences, chemometrics, computer sciences or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industrial experience or Master’s degree and a minimum of 11 years of relevant industrial experience
Demonstrated experience developing complex data analytics workflow – machine learning, multivariate analysis - on biologics processes
Advanced programing skills in standard programming languages - Python, R, Matlab
Demonstrated knowledge in app’ development in cloud-based environment
Leadership experience on matrix teams and project management
An ability to work as part of across functional team, engaging with scientists in the field of biopharmaceutics
Learning agility, with an appetite for building new skills in a rapidly evolving Digital environment
A change agent mentality, proposing novel approach to challenging scientific questions
Coaching and mentoring skills, supporting development of scientists in the area of data science
Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, in an international environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of cell and gene therapy process and general cell biology
Experience in omics analytics
Trained and operational in Agile methodology
