Position/Department Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Business System Owner (BSO) for our Digital Laboratory workflow (Sanofi system referred to as iLab), managing the business process supported by the system in production and ensuring its GxP compliance. With iLab, Sanofi is implementing one core platform for drug substance, drug product and analytical development in Biologics and Synthetics functions worldwide. This platform documents digitally our scientific work with automated capture of related data, while at the same time facilitating the collaboration between all labs within a single system, ensuring full data integrity and accessibility. The BSO defines the overall iLab application strategy and roadmap with regards to new capabilities, new releases, upgrades and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

While the program is in implementation mode, the BSO will:

  • Defines and sets up the iLab support model in close collaboration with his(her) Digital counterpart.

  • Ensures the iLab support team is staffed with business skilled resources.

  • Provides the support team with functional and cross-functional process information to support and maintain the application integrity and quality.

  • Has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the GxP compliance of the system and associated data

As the program transition to operational mode, the BSO will:

  • Lead the iLab support team in close collaboration with his(her) Digital counterpart.

  • Contribute to site audit support / inspection readiness and system periodic review

  • Ensure global access management process is in place with appropriate controls (e.g., approval workflow, training, user access review)

  • Participate in the program governance committee as representative of the business community.

  • Define priorities (incidents, changes) and application strategy / roadmap such as upgrade, enhancement

  • Manage communication to the business community e.g., new releases, downtime.

  • Follow up on Risks registered for application.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Trained in biology or chemistry at PhD level, with 10 years of experience in (bio)pharm industry or a Masters degree with 12 years of experience

  • Proven skills in leading complex projects in an international environment

  • Strong experience in working in process development, CMC and/or production

  • Demonstrated experience to manage projects/programs in regulated environment (GxP)

  • Proven background in the deployment of large-scale digital initiatives

  • Structured, goal-oriented and highly motivated

  • Ability to deliver results under high pressure

  • English fluent

  • Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work transversally on a local and global level across all hierarchies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management certification

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic to bring transformative digitalization to the scientific community

  • Fluency in French and/or German
