Responsibilities
The Type 2 Inflammation and Dupixent Research cluster in the Immunology and Inflammation therapeutic area within Sanofi is seeking an experienced and highly motivated scientist to join their team. The candidate will help to expand our mechanistic understanding of Dupixent and maximize its value through execution of dedicated research studies. A successful candidate will have a background in immunology and an ability to integrate into multiple projects, contributing technical in vitro and in vivo skills. The candidate must be driven, resourceful, and able to work independently. Excellent organizational skills in management of data, reagents and equipment are essential. The candidate will participate in regular team meetings and present results, interpret data, and formulate conclusions. Teamwork, collaboration with colleagues across disciplines and excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments using immunological and biochemical assays including flow cytometric and microscopic analysis, ELISAs, live-cell imaging, patch clamp electrophysiology and other functional assays. Hands-on laboratory contribution is essential.
Primary cell isolation, cell culture and maintenance.
Assist with in vivo pharmacology studies by performing intraperitoneal, intranasal, and intradermal administration of test substances and assisting with sample collection.
Coordinate studies with team members or inter/intra cluster colleagues and platforms.
Coordinate research efforts and makes key technical and intellectual contributions that affect the direction of the group and/or project.
Analyze, interpret, and document data and communicate results in team, group, and leadership settings and help decide next steps.
Maintain a compliant laboratory notebook.
Provide and promote support for operational excellence according to Sanofi values and ethics.
Adhere to corporate standards of code of conduct, safety and disposal of controlled substances and biohazard material.
Work independently with minimal supervision
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 4 years OR Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting
Hands-on industry experience designing, executing, and documenting cell-based pharmacology experiments is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with experimental design, execution and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated background in cell biology:
Experience in aseptic technique for in vitro cell culture.
Experience with protein quantification platforms (e.g. ELISA, MSD, Luminex).
Experience with flow cytometry, patch clamp electrophysiology, live-cell imaging or fluorescence microscopy is desirable but not required.
Demonstrated ability to master new scientific disciplines, troubleshoot both technical and scientific problems, and analyze and interpret experimental data and suggest next steps.
Ability to effectively present and communicate complex data sets to diverse audiences.
Excellent organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Background/experience in immunology is a plus
