Responsibilities
Senior Project Manager, Rare Disease position works directly with various business stakeholders including PELS, Case Managers, Legal and Compliance to lead initiatives which will transform the PPS organization. A successful candidate must have experience documenting business processes and suggesting improvements. The position liaises with the IT organization to drive the identification and delivery of solutions to fulfill unmet business needs.
This role requires relationship management, business analysis, and project management skills as well as knowledge of various applications such as Salesforce.com, Veeva, Data Warehouse, and Processes etc.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Business Case Development:
Collaborates with Director of Platform Solutions and PPS Leadership team to establish scope and business case for new programs and initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build relationships with key business stakeholders and become a trusted advocate for the business, advocating for critical initiatives.
During project initiation, collaborate with project sponsors to define objectives and resource managers for project staffing.
Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather and document user requirements, challenging assumptions to find the best solutions.
Perform process mapping of As IS and To Be processes in conjunction with business stakeholders.
Leverage process improvement tools to streamline business processes.
Project Management
Drive the execution and delivery of solutions by managing cross-functional stakeholders including IT and Business functions.
Provide project status updates leveraging weekly status reports, risk log, risk mitigation plan and project dashboards etc.
Collaborate with project team to develop project timelines and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, etc.
Roadmap Execution
Collaborate with ITS to identify technical functionality that aligns with desired new business capabilities by participating in vendor demos, proof of concept design reviews (POCs) and sprint releases.
Identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate Rare Disease from its competition
User Acceptance Testing:
Collaborates with business stakeholders and ITS to define user acceptance criteria.
Accountable for test script development, ensuring test scripts reflect user acceptance criteria.
Performs functional testing
Plans and drives user acceptance testing execution including engagement of business stakeholders and sign-off activities.
Change Management/ Training
Engages Change Management and Training team to facilitate the development of project communication plan and development/ execution of training of larger scale projects via regular checkpoints and status updates.
Ensures that Change Management and Training team have information needed to create training materials and project communications.
Accountable for adoption of solutions by sponsoring business departments
Post Go Live Support:
Lead project hypercare planning and execution
Facilitate lessons learned/retrospective discussions
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree required
5+ years Project Management or / 7+ years as a Senior Business Analyst experience
Biotech/Life Science industry experience is preferred.
Salesforce experience preferred.
Knowledge and prior experience in Agile Scrum SDLC and release management preferred
Experience working in projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure
Ability to quickly learn details of multiple IT systems, integrations and cloud applications
Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and analysis, small and large group facilitation, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability/experience in thinking at a high-level but have the ability to get into details
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level.
