The position will serve as a lead position for Research within virology platform. The scientist level positionwill design, develop and evaluate vaccines as well as immunotherapeutic products for immunization of humans against infectious diseases. The candidate will involve planning, conducting and evaluating the utility of a variety of delivery systems and immunotherapeutic proteins using both in vitro and in vivo experimentation.Furthermore, the candidate will develop and implement the assays intended for the in vitro characterization of vaccine or immunotherapeutic products and screening lead candidates in small animal models.The individual is expected to collaborate with others in a project setting for product development and improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and evaluates novel delivery systems based on virus, bacteria and DNA or immunotherapeutic products for exploratory projects aimed at achieving their POC or product improvement.
  • Develops assays for testing and characterizing vaccines and immunotherapeutic proteins.

  • Manages Laboratory to establish best practices, ensures safe working environment for all, monitors equipment upkeep, calibration and preventative maintenance, maintains storage database system, assists with equipment trouble-shooting if required.

  • Summarize results and conclusions in study reports and present data at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Maintains an appropriate level of familiarity with the scientific literature and new technology.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • MSc in Virology or related discipline with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in vaccine development or relevant field.
  • Experience in virological and/or immunological assay methods, and ability to investigate and apply these methods for project advancement.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with members of other functional groups within Research.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel, DNA analysis programs are desired.
