Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Description:

The director of portfolio operations & launch management is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of all operational launch readiness activities across Sanofi Genzyme.  This position will be accountable for managing a successful launch management team and will oversee multiple product and new indication launches at a time.  This position requires a strategic thinker who can align on manageable timelines and milestones through collaboration across various levels and functions within the organization.

The director will also be responsible for business process improvement and technical system implementations within the Sanofi Genzyme US Business Operations Portfolio Operations & Launch Management Team (POLM).   The POLM team works on projects that facilitate new product or indication launches, address known business issues or drive enhancements through better leverage of existing systems to reduce complexity across Sanofi Genzyme in the US. 

The position will support our key US Business Operations objectives and execute projects that ensure our employees and processes have maximized efficiencies.  This position will interact with senior leadership and subject matter experts to develop solutions that improve process performance by increasing efficiency and ensuring a best in class team.  This includes managing projects from end-to-end including product & indication launches, system enhancements, process assessments, requirements gathering, designing enhancements, communication and training.  The responsibilities will also include collaboration and partnership with the business units, training and change management teams as well as our ITS organization.

The primary responsibilities include the following:

  • US Launch lead to ensure the full execution of the Brand Launch Strategy

  • With collaboration and partnership alongside the Brand Leadership Team, manages the launch coordination across multiple workstreams including: Medical, Patient Services, Public Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Value & Access, Business Operations, Commercial (HCP & Consumer), Communication/PR, HEOR

  • Report launch status updates and manage escalation of concerns/issues to LT

  • Direct teams on strategic priorities of the launch & communicate appropriately 

  • Drive cross-functional awareness & management of interdependencies 

  • Manage direct and indirect team members for launches and various projects

  • Project Management (development of project plans, status meetings, project reporting, etc.) across various projects within Business Operations. This includes projects impacting our sales representatives, speakers, customers, patients, analytics team, etc.

  • Strategic planning: US POLM strategy, templates, methodology for project planning with cross functional teams

  • Documentation of current state and future state business processes

  • Development of recommendations jointly with the business units, ITS and senior leadership

  • Preparation and presentation to management of findings and implementation plans

  • Proactively identify opportunities and best practices across business processes and technology solutions

  • Coordinating or developing and executing  communication and training strategies

  • Drive continuous improvement to the business processes and systems across Sanofi Genzyme

  • Budgeting, planning and executing on key objectives with a cross-functional scope

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams

  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical

  • Project Management expertise required

  • Excellent in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel and Project Management Tools (i.e. Microsoft Project)

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of time

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to influence, collaborate and deliver solutions in highly complex, matrix environment

  • Experience budgeting, planning and executing on key objectives with a cross-functional scope

  • Flexible, able to adapt to changing business priorities

  • Extreme attention to detail and capable of asking insightful questions

  • Ability to multitask and deliver results within timelines

  • Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a broader team

  • Strong sense of urgency, personal commitment and ownership over work

Preferred

  • Launch experience a plus

  • Team management a plus

  • System Implementation experience a plus

  • Commercial Operations experience a plus

  • Consulting experience a plus

  • PMP Certified a plus (Project Management Professional Certification)

  • MBA a plus
