The purpose of the SBS Customer Invoice to Cash (CI2C) Services is to implement and lead the CI2C organization for Sanofi Business Services in North America region in line with the global SBS operating model.

Leading a team of >35 employees in the North America Region and with an operational budget of over >5MUSD per year, this role contributes to the strategic priority of rolling out the Core Model, improving the cash position of Sanofi and is responsible for key activities such as customer invoicing, management of credit limits as well as cash collection activities.

Selected candidate will maintain close partnership with key stakeholders in Finance, for example the CFO or the Head of Treasury, as well as the Supply Chain Organization, Trade, Market Access and Sanofi’s GBUs (General Medicines, Specialty Care, Vaccines).

CI2C is an end-to-end process organization and consolidates the following activities: Customer invoicing,

Operational Credit Management, Cash Collections and Dunning as well as Cash Applications.

The role will have the overall accountability of the end-to-end CI2C operations to deliver best-in-class service and to partner with relevant business representatives across the region to ensure sustainable and efficient processes and improve cash performance.

he /she will ensure scope expansions (Rx Crossroad integration, Sanofi Pasteur mutualization, other acquisitions…) are integrated smoothly in CI2C operations while optimizing resource model and team structure.

The head of SBS CI2C Services – Region North America is a member of the CI2C leadership team and leads the US credit Committee.

Sanofi US is only considering candidates who are currently legally eligible to work in the U.S.  Company-paid relocation benefits are not offered for this position.

This position can be based out of our Bridgewater, N.J.; Swiftwater, PA or Massachusetts locations. 

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery

  • Accountable for the efficient delivery of an end-to-end service: Customer Qualification & Master Data; Customer invoicing; Accounts Receivable; Bad Debt Management

  • Ensure that this end-to-end service is highly efficient, cost-effective, high quality and agile in order to meet stakeholder satisfaction (Sanofi employees and GBUs) and achieve strategic targets (for example improve the DSO, working capital)

  • Create a culture of cooperation, collaboration, performance and teamwork across CI2C teams within North America Region and ensure a smooth interface to the relevant stakeholders inside- and outside of SBS

  • In line with the global SBS operating model and CI2C Core Model, establish and provide service KPIs and dashboards to measure and improve performance (cost, efficiency, quality, customer service)

  • Impact on cash performance by improving on time collection AR (4.6bnUSD); overseeing and reducing open deductions (0,1 bnUSD & >90days 50MUSD)

  • Create, understand and apply best practices from within SBS or external best-in-class service organizations

Ensure Compliance and Internal Control standards are met

Process Management

  • Closely collaborate with Global Process Owners and Regional Process Managers to support the design and implementation of CI2C Core model and key projects within the operations

  • Ensure that key CI2C projects deliver the expected benefits in terms of efficiency, cost and quality

  • Leverage operational experience and contribute to global design of standard processes / contribute to regional standard process design on process level 4-5

  • Implement standard processes as defined by Global Process Owners and Regional Process Management teams and manage deviations to these standard processes

People Management

  • Lead the CI2C services organization with a solid line management responsibility for more than 35 employees


  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required.  MBA Degree is Preferred

  • A minimum of 12 years of professional work experience is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in support functions with 5 years of direct work experience in Finance, Trade and/or Supply Chain and their delivery is required

  • Effective change Management required to manage transition from current operating models to future SBS CI2C operating model

  • Experience of working within a Shared Services / BPO model is preferred

  • Selected candidate will have a firm understanding of relevant processes such as Finance, Gross to Net, Trade and Supply Chain

  • Candidate will possess a good understanding of a Shared Services/ Business Process Outsourcing operating model

  • Strong program and project management skills (ability to identify problems and define solutions incl. implementation plans in a structured manner)

  • Good understanding of common Information System (IS) solutions used within CI2C @ Sanofi

  • Ability to think strategically and take a helicopter view, but also be able to dive deep into operational problems when required

  • Track record of having effectively managed large efficiency improvement programs with a multitude of individual projects is required

  • International background with exposure to multicultural environments is preferred

  • Experience in LEAN Management is preferred

  • Position may require up to 10% overall business travel

  • Ability to build a high performing team, motivate team to work towards a common set of goals, lead team through change, shape culture & SBS sense of belonging.

  • Strong problem solving and conflict management skill

  • Personality with strong delivery skills and focused on results

  • Very good communicator with an ability to discuss on executive level within Sanofi and externally
