Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Purpose

Within Play to Win ambition to work in a more: targeted, efficient and performance-oriented way; The primary purpose of the role is to

a) Partner with North America Market Access Pricing and US Market Access Shared Services on pricing management (including governance, analytics and risk & opportunities). Ensure that prices (Sanofi portfolio official and net prices, excluding CHC) are set, updated and approved according to Sanofi Global Pricing Governance and Pricing Principles.

b) As the Global Pricing Vaccines GBU Business Partner, she/he will provide a leadershiproleworking closely with the relevant GBU Market Access colleagues. To support Vaccines GBU in achieving its access and pricing ambition, she/he will ensure relevant pricing insights (e.g. sanofi and competition prices analysis…), analytics/dashboards and expertise (Reference Pricing modeling, price optimization scenarios…) are provided to the GBU

c) act as contact point for global and GBU Trade and Revenue Manegement (TRM) Teams, primarily focusing on tenders as to ensure Sanofi operates in the most efficient manner on price points collection, approval & analysis

She/he will ensure that cross-geography pricing activities are delivered based on best-in-class methodologies, encompassing a better integration of data and advanced modeling, while accelerating the pricing digital transformation.

She/he will act as ambassador for bringing Pricing standards to higher level for proper anticipation, simplification and replicability across the portfolio.

The role will be member of the Global Pricing Leadership team and will manage directly one Pricing Lead.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.GOVERNANCE & PRICING PRINCIPLES

  • Ensure optimal GLOCALgovernance is in place for North America.

  • Ensure North America pricing decision/approval is performed under a robust governance with clear responsibilities definition/split between Local and Global pricing teams. Ensure North America Sanofi portfolio official and net prices (excluding CHC) are set and updated according to Sanofi Global Pricing Governance and Pricing Principles

2. PRICE REVIEW & OPTIMIZATION

  • Support countries in scope to define optimized prices, considering both Global Products Pricing Policies and local market conditions.

  • Ensure that prices (Sanofi portfolio official and net prices, excluding CHC) are set, updated and approved according to Sanofi Global Pricing Governance and Pricing Principles. For the US specifically, the team will collaborate on the GoA (Grant of Authorities) to ensure the process is fluid and auditable.

  • Support geography in scope price optimization by analyzing List to Net cascade in value (e.g. statutory discounts and market access entry agreements…)

  • Support geography in scope for portfolio arbitration and payer budget constraints management

  • Support country/region for Strategic Planning, LRP, Budget, country business review price assumptions and analysis

3. PRICING EXPERTISE & ANALYTICS

  • Support informed decision-making by:

  • Providing transversal perspective (cross-GBU…) as well as considering cross-country potential impact, assess price changes impact on both patient access and profitability. Assess gross to net price consistency cross-GBU.

  • Supporting key Pricing/Access scenarios building, with relevant functions (local and Global). Provide pricing scenario modeling for launch as well as for in-line products (e.g. pricing impact from biosimilar entry, change in procurement mode…)

  • Bring external, to North America, insight (e.g. measure as price containment, Reference Pricing…) as to anticipate/mitigate North America price and reimbursement evolution.

  • Providing North America geography with any relevant pricing analytics, price trend projection or Dashboard (in connection with Global Pricing CoE analytics department)

  • convey proper training on pricing information management sensitivity and confidentiality

4. PRICING EXECUTION & INTELLIGENCE

  • For countries in scope, the role will monitor execution of pricing strategies and guidelines at a country level.

  • Ensure price performance tracking (including country innovative pricing and contracting schemes performance tracking, post implementation impact analysis…).

  • Support management of existing/future potential pricing risks & opportunities (e.g. International Pricing benchmarking by US authorities…)

  • The role will bring relevant North America pricing “intelligence” to any relevant Global functions & GBUs: market pricing dynamics, competition behavior (e.g. benchmark to sanofi competition products…)

5. VACCINES GBU SUPPORT

  • Provide a leadership role working closely with the relevant GBU Market Access colleagues.

  • Ensure relevant pricing insights (e.g. competition prices analysis…), analytics/dashboards and expertise (Reference Pricing modeling, price optimization scenarios…) are made available to the GBU.

  • Provide operational and strategic insight on both actual and future market pricing related dynamics.

  • The role will mainly support:

  • Flu HD/Flublok expansion plan (official and net pricing scenarios…) Nirsevimab launch plan (official and net pricing scenarios…), will provide alliance pricing decision experience MenQuadFi launch plan (official and net pricing scenarios…), price transition plan from Menactra to MenQuadFi… Hexaxim price plan in light of geography expansion plan and alternative vaccines (Shan6…) launches…

6. TRADE & REVENUE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

  • Will also act as primary contact point for Global & GBU TRM Teams as to operate in the most efficient manner:

  • Ensure Global Pricing CoE provides proper analytics, trends and Dashboard

  • Ensure bid price management by Trade & Tenders team is fully compatible with Global Pricing processes and methodologies (for instance bid prices are comparable with Global Pricing System and any other relevant system…)

  • Tender price approval is properly embedded in Trade and Tenders governance and fulfills Global Pricing Governance requirements

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong strategic mindset and leadership skills with the ability to work well in a cross-functional team

  • Ability to debate and put forward compelling thinking in public and professional settings, including accomplished public speaking capability

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to digest and present complex information in digestible ways for internal (e.g. senior management) and external audiences

  • Intellectual curiosity and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to seek multiple inputs and generate aligned positions.

  • Problem-solving mindset, resilience and see-through determination, teamwork and collaboration to advance business critical solutions

  • Ability to make strategic choices about where to focus thinking and effort for maximum impact on Sanofi’s business

Required experiences:

  • Minimum 7- 10 year experience in a Pricing and/or Market Access department in Pharmaceutical industry (including experience of Operational Pricing)

  • Experience in team management

  • Significant experience with and understanding of reimbursement systems, international pricing rules and major pricing systems and their evolution.

  • Strong knowledge of price sensitivity and modeling of pricing scenario (pricing researches techniques and methodologies, impact of international reference pricing, evaluation of business case, interpretation of financial data)

  • Good knowledge of Health economics (understand key drivers and interpretation of health economics and cost-effectiveness models) and contracting tactics;

  • Experience of Alliances

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Dual background of science and business (with finance focus and/ or pricing experience) is preferred.

  • Advanced degree in business or economic field (Ph.D, MD, MBA, MPH) is preferred as well.

Languages:

  • English fluent required (French, other languages would be a plus)
