Position Overview:

Sanofi is recruiting a new Medical Director engage with opinion leaders, academia, professional organizations, and patient advocacy groups to gather treatment insights in Hemophilia and develop medical engagement plans. The new Medical Director will report directly into the Hemophilia TA Head. 

It is a highly visible role to all levels within the company due to the shared interest in systematic assessment and alignment of stakeholders with product strategies.  The role functions internally as the subject matter expert and product expert will possess a deep understanding of stakeholder aspirations and translate them into harmonized engagement strategies. Essential to success is an outstanding partnership with the Global Medical Directors, Clinical Development, Commercial, and External Affairs to maximize our value proposition.  Externally, the role assists health care professionals and payers to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes through mutually beneficial partnership with Sanofi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Stakeholder Relations Lead engages with opinion leaders, academia, professional organizations, and patient advocacy groups to gather insights. This role oversees the systematic assessment and alignment of stakeholders with product strategies. The role leverages a deep understanding of stakeholder aspirations, subject matter expertise and influencers to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with Sanofi partners.

  • Provides the stakeholder landscape and new treatment paradigms in Hemophilia  to inform the strategy and medical activities.

  • Employs rigorous methodologies to identify, profile, and prioritize key stakeholders.

  • Gathers stakeholder insights to develop engagement objectives, strategy, and plan for stakeholders.

  • Identifies gaps in stakeholder knowledge and areas for bringing competitive advantage to Sanofi through deeper partnerships and more systematic insight gathering.

  • Oversees implementation of sustainable and mutually beneficial engagement of global hemophilia external stakeholders to deepen Sanofi relationships.

  • Profiles stakeholders and pull through insights to support medical and the brand team.

  • Measures stakeholder perspectives and changes over time to update stakeholder alignment to tactics.

  • Creates opportunities for affiliate synergy in stakeholder engagement.

  • Develops and refines infrastructure to instill operational excellence in global / local stakeholder engagement.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in KOL relationship management.

  • Developing standard process for stakeholder engagement ensures a uniform experience for all stakeholders and increases operational effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MD, PharmD, PhD, specialization in Hematology is preferred.

  • Industry experience in Medical Affairs. 

  • Sound scientific and clinical judgment, including in-depth understanding of healthcare environment worldwide

  • In-depth understanding of and proven success in how to successfully work with clinical study groups, professional organizations and KOLs.

  • Broad and formal leadership experience, including excellent “leadership presence” to represent Medical Affairs within the company, to other functions, and to leaders at every level.    

  • Excellent skills working with experts from other functions and countries and influencing decision making without authority in a complex and matrix environment.

  • High energy and an absolute commitment to a culture that operates with high ethical standards and strives to exceed all goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence while working effectively in a matrix environment.   

  • Comfort operating in a consensus building role but also able to make specific recommendations and decisions and drive for implementation.

  • Ability to inspire confidence, both internally and externally in Sanofi Hematology - leading by example and demonstrating collaborative behavior.   

  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical data results and information to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with the commercial organization, as well as negotiate and influence across cultures.
