Responsibilities

The Global Director, ASMD, will be instrumental in supporting the planning, development, management, and execution of the global launch strategy for a novel pipeline therapeutic targeting Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD), an ultra-rare genetic disease. 

The candidate will be involved in design and execution of all Global Launch Planning activities, including but not limited to identifying the critical success factors for the launch readiness, executing the mapping patient journey and HCP dynamics, diagnostic initiatives, brand development, disease education, lifecycle management, and coordinating the launch efforts across regions and countries. 

This global role will be highly cross-functional and cross-regional and involve leveraging synergies through a strong collaboration with all Rare Diseases teams.  This position has immediate visibility, diverse challenges and rewards, and the opportunity to learn virtually all aspects of the launch planning and execution.

This position is scheduled to be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This position is eligible for relocation support. Sanofi US is only considering candidates who are currently legally eligible to work in the U.S. Company-paid relocation benefits may be offered for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic insight and tactical execution towards the development of the Global Launch Plan and during the Brand Planning cycle

  • Coordinate the cross-functional / cross-geography discussions to identify Launch Critical Success Factors; and design the strategies and relevant tactics to address them

  • Support the Global Launch Leader in driving cross-functional discussions to identify Launch Critical Success Factors; and design the strategies to address them

  • Support the Global Launch Leader in driving decision-making and tactics across diverse functional areas (legal, regulatory, R&D, manufacturing, medical, market access, HEOR, patient advocacy, regional marketers, outside agencies, etc.) in support of launch readiness across multiple global markets

  • Responsible for leading the design and execution of the Global Stakeholder Engagement Plan for the following global Stakeholders groups:

    • HCPs, KOLs, Patient Advocacy Groups, payors

    • Lead the design with the respective functions; monitor execution

    • Define KPIs and monitor them

  • Responsible for leading the development of Global Launch KPIs

    • Alignment across top 20markets on Launch KPIs

    • Weekly / monthly monitoring

  • Responsible for development and implementation of a seamless-patient on-boarding experience across all countries

  • Lead the generation and consolidates key insights across HCPs and patient stakeholders (through market research, ad boards, etc.) and make strategic recommendations to advance brand performance against goals.

  • Responsible for defining and monitoring global launch KPIs

  • Support and develop promotional and non-promotional materials and manage agencies accordingly

  • Orchestrate launch readiness across multiple markets, and best practice sharing

  • Manage global brand budgets, agencies and investment

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA with a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible sales and marketing experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry (market research, New Product Planning)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong business judgment and emotional intelligence

  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Strong commercial acumen, marketing capabilities, and strategic/innovative thinking capabilities

  • Strong leadership qualities. Ability to influence without direct line authority

  • Results-oriented and motivated self-starter

  • Ability to build positive working relationships across functions and regions

  • Ability to work with, motivate, and manage agency partners

  • Ability to work successfully and quickly amid change and ambiguity

  • Previous Biotech/Pharmaceutical marketing and / or sales experience

  • Previous field and/or affiliate experience

  • Product launch experience

  • Strong presentation skills

The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
