Job Title:  Specialty Care Finance Business Partner Rare Blood Disorders

Scope:  Global / focus almost exclusively outside of emerging

Reports To: Head of Finance Planning & Performance, Specialty Care

Dotted-Line: Sanofi-Genzyme Global Franchise lead


Reporting to the Head of Finance Planning & Performance, Specialty Care, the Sanofi-Genzyme Finance Business Partner Rare Blood Disorders is the Global Finance Lead for the Global Rare Blood Disorders Franchise and SOBI Collaboration, which includes direct Leadership of all financial matters for the Global Commercial Organization and coordination throughout the entire P&L and Value Chain (Research & Development, Industrial & Supply and Commercial). She/He is also the Global Finance Lead for the SOBI Collaboration and supports all financial aspects of the Development and Commercialization Agreement (DCA) and Commercial and Supply Agreements.


  • Finance voice of the Global Franchise and effectively interacts with the Countries, Industrial Affairs and R&D, while supporting the Head of the Franchise, the Head of Finance Planning & Performance, Specialty Care, and CFO Sanofi Genzyme and its Leadership Teams

  • Responsible for the Franchise Global Controlling & Reporting Process including Sales, P&L, Headcount and Investments during monthly closing, forecast, budget and strategic planning processes

  • Resource allocation decision making support between 1) Regions, 2) TAs during Forecasts and Budget processes

  • Performance Management: Generate performance reports for the Global Leadership Teams and monitor Global / Region and countries TA’s performance and provide comments and recommendations on corrective actions, including connecting external and market trends into internal performance

  • Launch Excellence Finance Support throughout the launches, provide financial expertise and support on launch preparation, governance, and launch execution monitoring

  • Lead the Global Long Range Strategic Planning Process for the respective Therapeutic Areas including key investments (External Partners, Infrastructure, Commercial Operations, RD&/IA Interface) and Lead Interaction with the Sanofi Group Strategy and Finance Leadership Team.

  • Prepare and present strategic investment projects and analysis required by Sanofi Group and Sanofi Genzyme Leadership team, and be the Finance representative of the Franchise for Strategic projects.

  • SOBI Collaboration:

    • Coordinate the Budget, Planning and actual closing process for the collaboration, including co-development, co-commercialization and drug substance supply

    • Act as the Finance Lead in support of the Alliance Governance Bodies preparation (JSC,JCC,JMSC,JDC) and interact effectively with our Partner

    • Educate and Train the broader Sanofi Finance Organization and the Franchise Leadership Team on the SOBI collaboration finance mechanism and principles

  • Lead, develop and train the Global Franchise Finance Team (2-3 direct reports) and provide supervision, alignment, support and guidance to regional finance teams. In addition, provide leadership and oversight to Oncology and MS&I franchises on Regeneron Alliance matters   



  • Master in Finance, Master in Science or MBA

  • Master’s degree in Finance or related area


  • Varied experience, with first experience in Business Partnering


  • Experience:

    • 10-15 years’ experience in Finance-related positions of increasing responsibility

    • Demonstrated ability to interact at the Executive Committee level as well as at project operational level and externally with key partners

    • Proven finance and controlling track record in a launch setting

    • Proven capabilities in managing alliances from a finance standpoint

    • Ability to work transversally and in a matrix

    • Ability to understand and challenge commercial, R&D, industrial and alliances P&L

    • Ability to model P&L on a 3/5 years’ time period

    • Finance business development skills: NPV, deals valuation

    • Global or international experience and ability to work with a diverse team

    • Additional Competencies:
