This individual will play a critical role in leading the launch of venglustat for ADPKD (autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease), which is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic diseases. In ADPKD, fluid-filled cysts develop and enlarge in both kidneys, eventually leading to kidney failure. It is the fourth leading cause of kidney failure and more than 50 percent of people with ADPKD will develop kidney failure by age 50. Once a person has kidney failure, dialysis or a transplant are the only options.
Venglustat in ADPKD has been identified as a priority pipeline program for the Sanofi organization. This role has high visibility and this person will be responsible for developing/aligning the strategic marketing plan for launch of the first indication for venglustat. This individual will also work closely with cross functional teams responsible for implementing initiatives for payers, consumers, and other key stakeholders. This position will have direct interface with national thought leaders, Alliance Partners, Market Research, Field Medical, Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Product Communications, and agency partners to achieve the launch objectives for venglustat and to bring a life-changing treatment to people living with ADPKD.
This position will be the first hire for the Global ADPKD Marketing Team, a team that will continue to grow into 2021 to prepare for global launches starting in 2023. This person must have the ability to contribute strategically as a thought partner with the Global Brand Lead- Venglustat/ADPKD but also work independently as a leader and flawlessly execute the patient marketing plan for the brand. This individual will be a liaison for the ‘Glocal’ model and support countries accordingly.
Global Marketing to develop patient disease and branded campaigns and create tactical plans to prepare the market for venglustat
Present to and engage with senior leadership, accepting and applying feedback accordingly
Develop and track success metrics and measurements for key marketing initiatives
Collaborate with key functional business partners including Value and Access, Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, Health Economics, Training, Digital and MCE, Medical, Forecasting and Analytics to align the global strategy
Analyze qualitative and quantitative market data to generate a deeper understanding of the customer's needs, brand and disease issues, and market potential, including proactive identification of opportunities and gaps to refine strategies
Manage brand OPEX budget, individual project budgets. Advise on annual planning, priority setting and budget allocation.
Contribute to the development of the forecast, strategic plan, and budget for the brand
Build strong relationships with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and key customers to identify customer needs and drive commercial development
Bachelor's degree required
Strong track record of success across sales and marketing in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industries; including 8+ years brand management experience, preferably with global marketing experience
Experienced manager of functional teams
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrated ability to be a proactive thinker and to embody a solution-oriented mindset
Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a complex matrix environment and building sustainable and collaborative relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate and convey complex data and information concisely to internal and external stakeholders
Global marketing experience
Renal and/or ADPKD market experience preferred, including existing KOL relationships
Rare disease launch experience preferred
High level of self-awareness and understanding of the importance of self-monitoring behavior for continuous improvement
