Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Oncology Portfolio Associate Director (AD) will be responsible for developing and leading several key marketing projects critical to the success of the Sanofi Genzyme Oncology Team. The successful candidate will lead and support strategic development and tactical execution for the US Oncology Portfolio Marketing team. The AD will be responsible for facilitating cross-functional team meetings, ensuring project milestones are met within established timelines, and managing budgets.  Key initiatives include, but are not limited to, congress planning, leading meeting project teams, marketing programs, public relations efforts, and marketing operations infrastructure building projects. The candidate must be highly organized, flexible, and adept at handling multiple projects with cross functional teams and tight deadlines. This will be a highly visible position interacting with senior leadership, many internal functional groups, as well as external vendors.

The ideal candidate will have had prior pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, congress planning and/or marketing operations experience.  They would also have experience working on large-scale, complex projects, supporting and working with various stakeholders.  Experience in both HCP and patient marketing is a plus. The AD will report to the Senior Director, Portfolio Marketing and will be based in Cambridge, MA.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead large, complex, cross functional projects, that are high exposure and high impact.

  • Develop and lead the strategy and execution of US Oncology Portfolio-led congresses (developing strategy for overall Oncology presence, managing cross-functional task force of marketing, sales, TLLs, medical teams, vendor management for registration, meetings management and convention build, development of Oncology Franchise content and messaging, evaluation and assessment of congress performance, and overall budget management)

  • Manage development of our Oncology leadership presence and relationships across key external organizations, medical societies and Oncology accounts (develop full scale relationship plans, gain alignment across functions and leadership on coordinated Sanofi Genzyme presence, track appropriate sponsorship benefits and timelines, organize and lead key external meetings)

  • Partner with Portfolio team members, corporate communications and PR agency to define and execute on US Oncology Franchise communications and narrative; ensure messaging and creative seamlessly pulls through congress and sponsorship content

  • Facilitate best practice sharing and alignment of marketing operations across US Oncology portfolio, establishing strong relationships with brand marketing teams

  • Manage annual budget ensuring strategic allocation of funds and monthly tracking to meet agreed spending targets

  • Manage agency partner and other vendors to ensure execution towards objectives

  • Ensure that all marketing processes, documents and tactics are developed and implemented in accordance with Sanofi Genzyme corporate compliance guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing (preferably pharmaceutical/biotech) experience required

  • Experience in developing innovative marketing, educational and communication platforms

  • Experience in managing external partners to assist in the development of strategy and tactics

  • Excellent analytical skills, well organized, and detail oriented

  • Ability to think strategically and work independently; strong presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage several large complex projects simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, and leadership skills 

  • Comfortable working in a fast pace and high expectation organization where the focus is on both what you do, and how you accomplish your goals and objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Marketing or Life Sciences preferred

  • Knowledge expertise in the field of Oncology preferred

  • Experience working with Healthcare Providers (HCPs)
