Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This individual will be responsible for setting the overall search strategy, as well as executing and leading metric-driven senior level search assignments, while also ensuring the organization is focused, successful and competitive to meet recruitment goals for three distinct North American business units: Commercial Vaccines, Corporate Functions and General Medicine.  This individual will also deliver best-in-class relationship management with candidates, internal/external clients and partners, and vendors.

The Senior Manager, Executive Search & Scouting will proactively identify and implement forward-thinking, diverse attraction and sourcing strategies in response to the business needs and will be responsible for identifying and assessing internal and external talent. This position will be accountable for driving these strategies through collaboration with the People Business Partners (HRBP's) and Hiring Managers to ensure the timely and cost- effective identification and selection of high quality and diverse talent required to achieve business short- and long-term goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Partner with 3 business segments (GBU’s) senior leadership to design, implement, and execute talent acquisition strategies. Provide guidance on selection processes and hiring decisions based on the Sanofi Leadership model.

  • Proactively generate a continual, diverse pipeline of highly qualified candidates by designing, managing and measuring the effectiveness of strategic recruitment projects related to diversity.

  • Utilize technology solutions, when possible, to streamline processes to maximize the Talent Acquisition Team’s role.  Continuously identify and recommend areas for improvement.

  • Execute and support the Sanofi Executive Search preferred supplier program.

  • Delivers relationship management strategies with high-potential talent to accurately represent company leadership positions in the marketplace.

  • Works collaboratively with the People Business Partners, Leadership Development, and Diversity to monitor and track senior-level succession plans to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of external search strategies and programs are fully maximized to deliver the best and most diverse talent pool.

  • Responsible for delivering weekly, quarterly, and annual performance and status reporting for all senior-level positions on a North America basis to provide HR and Line Executives with complete transparency on progress against open positions as well as any potential barriers and risk factors to completing search objectives.

  •  Provides timely and state-of-the-art information to Senior Executives within the business and HR on important developments within the executive staffing field and assess their applicability to individual business needs and Sanofi as a whole. Help educate the business leaders on effective recruiting methods and work with them to implement. Represents Sanofi in the marketplace at key professional organizations, events, and dinners to support talent acquisition goals.

  • Consult with and advise clients on all Sanofi recruitment processes, such as using the Workday Applicant Tracking System, creating and posting requisitions, facilitating resume reviews, assessment of candidates, debrief sessions, and candidate tracking.

  • Successful performance against staffing metrics including, but not limited to:  Number of Positions Filled, Time to Fill, Diversity, Source of Hire, Offer/Acceptance, Cost Per Hire, and other internal measurements and standards that drive an effective talent acquisition process.

  • Facilitating ‘Recruiting Strategy Discussion’ meetings to set mutually agreed upon deliverables and expectations.

  • Consults with HRBP's and hiring managers regarding specific diversity recruitment goals and develops and implements appropriate tactics ensuring diverse candidate slate for each position.

  • Negotiates employment offers and successfully closes candidates.

  • When applicable, engages with Sanofi and Outside Counsel to ensure facilitation of relevant visa processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to understand the needs of the business segments and hiring managers and translate those to the broader talent labor market. 

  • Expertise to identify, evaluate, and manage proactive diverse sourcing plans, position specific sourcing strategies, initiatives and tactics including cold-calling, networking/relationship building, internet job boards, database mining, referrals, professional outreach, agencies, and advanced sourcing techniques.

  • Solid and persuasive verbal, written, consulting, and platform communication skills; ability to market Sanofi value proposition and opportunities to candidates, present candidates to business partners, understand key conversion factors of candidates, and influence them to join the organization.

  • Demonstrated competence in leading change around diverse talent acquisition and diversity & inclusion.

  • Proven ability to think strategically, develop strategic plans and successfully execute on those plans.

  • Proven ability to effectively use interpersonal skills and influencing techniques to gain acceptance of ideas/plans with leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to develop, maintain and communicate meaningful hiring metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to model strong leadership skills around building inclusive environments.

  • Strong time management and analytical skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity, stressful and/or confidential situations with ease, professionalism, and savviness.

  • ​High energy, enthusiasm, passion for recruitment, and sense of urgency levels.

  • Travel required as needed, approximately 20%.  (Majority of business leaders are in Bridgewater, NJ and Cambridge, MA)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of senior level recruitment experience in life sciences or scientific environment OR HS Diploma with 8+ plus years senior level recruitment experience AND 5+ years' experience within a HR function.

  • Prior use of behavioral-based interviewing and selection models required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience recruiting within the medical, life sciences, biotech, pharma, or related industries and/or recruiting for Commercial & Financial roles within a mid to large matrixed organization.

  • AIRS, and DDI or Lominger certification desired.

  • Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems; prior use of Workday a plus.

  • Experience with a broad range of recruiting methodologies including sourcing capabilities (active and passive), internet, employee referrals, professional networking, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the candidate process orchestrating a positive candidate experience throughout.

  • Recruitment experience gained at a contingency or retained search firm experience a plus.
