Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Sanofi Consumer Healthcare (CHC) is seeking a Director, Marketing Communications and Events.  This role will be responsible for driving Sanofi CHC’s external trade strategy and ensure operational excellence surrounding both internal and external events.  The Director will be responsible for developing Sanofi CHC’s external communication strategy and managing event execution while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader Sanofi strategy.

Success in this role will require a strategic and analytical mindset, excellent ability to communicate at all levels and extensive project and event management experience to drive and organize successful events. This role will report to the Senior Director of Commercial Operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop Sanofi CHC’s external operations and communication strategy

  • Prioritize communications and event participation in alignment with Sanofi CHC’s strategy

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Sanofi CHC’s product portfolio needs and requirements to ensure proper external engagement/prioritization

  • Collaborate with Sales Strategy, Commercial Operations, Marketing and other cross functional teams to identify and align with Sanofi’s US strategy

  • Evaluate and provide strategic input on the conference landscape and participation compared to partners and competitors

  • Develop and provide external engagement metrics/insights to leadership regularly in order to inform engagement strategy

  • Drive successful execution of external conventions and trade shows and internal meetings

  • Manage all aspects of both external and internal events such as Trade Shows and National Sales Meetings from planning through execution

  • Oversee multiple workstreams as part of the planning process - including senior level communications, event preparation, logistics, operations, meeting management, and booth/brochure/branding/other media refresh

  • Develop and execute agendas, timelines and action items to ensure events are successful

  • Develop and execute the convention/meeting registration, website, housing and ad hoc meeting requests for participants

  • Manage the construction, shipping, and receiving of trade booth, meeting supplies, signage and equipment

  • Evaluate and contract with vendors and venues according to industry standards and stakeholder requirements

  • Produce pre-event preparation communications and post-event analysis including event metrics and debriefs

  • Manage the budget including initiating purchase orders, check requests, honorariums and generating monthly reports on expenditures against budget

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to organize and manage national meetings

  • Assign clear roles and responsibilities for external event engagement and ensure team accountability

  • Manage and track key external contacts

  • Update and maintain Sanofi CHC presentations to be used in all external events – trade shows, customer meetings, etc.

  • Drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous process improvement

  • Drive consistency around the planning, tracking, and measurement in order to enable decision-making

  • Lead projects of all sizes along with ad hoc tasks as needed

  • Leverage collaboration tools and systems to share information across the team 

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • BA/BS degree required

  • 5+ years of related experience in trade show/convention management/meeting planning/communications in the Consumer Healthcare/Consumer Product Goods industry

  • Excellent communications skills. 

  • Demonstrated experience with internal and external trade communications

  • Extensive project management and event planning experience required; experience in planning a complex series of engagements/projects

  • Detail oriented focus to ensure that all aspects of all engagements are executed with success

  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Communicates with credibility and confidence across various levels of stakeholders internally and externally

  • Expert in the use of project management techniques

Location: Bridgewater, NJ or Remote

The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
