Our primary purpose is to support our Marketing and Sales counterparts to keep the customer in the center of our company vision.
The Associate Director, Forecasting – Vaccines/US will report to the Senior Director, Analytics and will be an integral part of US Vaccines Commercial Operations team. Primary responsibility of the role is to develop, manage & maintain defensible sales forecasts, perform detailed analysis to track brand performance vs. forecast and provide clear commentary to senior management for all aspects impacting sales performance relating to in-line brands and launch products within the U.S Vaccines business. This individual will serve as an expert on the topics of forecasting techniques, methodology and assumptions, and the development of business KPIs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate closely with Marketing leadership and Head of Finance to align on the overall forecasting processes, deliverables, and timelines for annual and monthly demand & revenue forecast cycles, and with Business Operations colleagues to ensure the latest market insights are reflected in the forecast
Prepare insightful presentations to communicate forecast approach, assumptions, analysis and recommendations for various sales and financial analysis
Contribute to the harmonization of forecast methods, models, and presentation formats across various vaccines
Ensure clear understanding across the various stakeholders for demand evolution by proactively performing analysis to validate demand data, interact with various stakeholders to understand possible deviations, and effectively communicate adjustments / restatements to facilitate most accurate demand performance measurement
Lead reconciliation of forecasting assumptions between local and global marketing
Increase operational efficiencies and leverage existing systems to automate forecast reporting processes
Lead change management throughout organization when new forecasting processes and data sources are analyses, challenged, and incorporated into sales forecasts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required in Analytics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering
Master’s degree preferred in one of the above subjects
5+ years of experience performing forecasting, operational / reporting, commercial analytics within the pharmaceutical industry.
OTHER SKILLS:
Proficiency in applying data science methodologies to complex quantitative problems; experience with programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, or others is a plus
Excellent analytical and forecasting skills, with demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain short and long-term forecast models; Microsoft Excel proficiency required
Proven leadership acumen, with well-developed communication & presentation skills
Proven strategic thinking ability, with deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape. Vaccines experience preferred
Knowledge of working with pharma/vaccine datasets such as IQVIA DDD, Claims, etc.
Outstanding organizational skills, time management and dealing with conflicting priorities
Strong interpersonal skills (with demonstrated stakeholder management, conflict management / resolution in group dynamic)
