Accountant Opportunity

Description:

The accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for compiling, reviewing, analyzing and reporting financial data to our corporate headquarters, governmental agencies, internal management and external audit.Maintenance of specific reporting systems is performed to ensure that all reports are accurate and reflect current financial activity.Reconciliations and analysis of financial data are required as well as follow-up/problem solving with other functional groups within the company and externally.Perform the various day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, analyzing financial data for all North American legal entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the North America monthly closing process by assisting with monthly Inventory reporting to corporate headquarters.Knowledge of standard costing & transfer pricing required for reconciliation before submission.
  • Responsibility will include the accounting for North America finished goods inventory, samples and associated reserves.This consists of performing monthly and quarterly general ledger close procedures, P&L analysis, preparing detailed analytical reviews, providing explanations as required by Corporate and preparing schedules for external auditors.
  • Perform reserve analysis in collaboration with product planners and substantiate the validity of proposed reserves as adequate and warranted.
  • Prepare fluctuation analysis for areas of responsibility on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare various government reports.
  • Review unusual or significant product variances impacting gross margin and determine if reasonable; capitalize the appropriate variances based off Company methodology and requirements.
  • Updating product standards and material master within SAP throughout the year.
  • Accountable for delivering service and meeting objectives defined in the A2R Service Level Agreements for all North America businesses Partners with the business units to continuously improve the services, accuracy and timing of the reporting function.
  • Maintain and cultivate strategic partnerships with North America controlling (including Industrial Affairs and External Manufacturing) to ensure integration and implementation of efficient process and policies.
  • Assist in the internal control and segregation of duties documentation to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Provide direction on Group policy & procedures to ensure accurate and harmonized reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 2-4 years of experience (CPA preferred)
  • Inventory reporting or Cost accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer, organizational and time management skills are necessary
  • Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO/MM a plus
  • Must have permanent US work authorization
