Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB:

Sanofi Global MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences, Analytics, and Technology) acts as a crucial link between our R&D and Manufacturing facilities, playing a vital role in securing the present portfolio and delivering future launches of high-quality and innovative drugs and vaccines. By driving its own transformation, Global MSAT fulfils an important function by providing day-to-day Manufacturing Support, focusing on technical and process aspects, effective Life Cycle Management, process robustness enhancement, and yield improvements to optimize performance.


The Technology Transfer group is responsible for delivering best-in-class Technology Transfers to enable Sanofi’s growth in existing and new products.  The group is responsible to establish and maintain the Technology Transfer infrastructure, standards and processes for Sanofi for all Technology Transfers from R&D to Manufacturing Supply and the external network of CMOs.  The Technology Transfer group is also responsible for understanding and applying internal and external benchmarks to establish and deliver the roadmap to Top Decile Technology Transfer, comprising of standardization, simplification and digitization of the Technology Transfer framework.  The team will drive best-in-class on time and right-first-time performance by setting and driving KPIs as well as best practice sharing through an internal Community of Excellence.

This position is also responsible for leading a group of Technology Transfer Leaders who will lead and deliver strategically critical Technology Transfer programs related to the launch of new products, launches and facilities in collaboration with a number of stakeholders across Sanofi Manufacturing & Supply, Research & Development, internal sites and external partners. The range of Technology Transfers spans New Product Introductions, Site to Site transfers and Life Cycle programs and will encompass internal and external sites. Responsibilities will span a range of technologies and modalities across all global business units.  This leader is expected to coach TTLs to exercise a high level of strategic thinking and influence to drive successful Technology Transfers, using a “Thoughtful Risk Taking” approach to ensure rigorous and efficient execution and on-time, right-first-time outcomes.

This role will also be responsible to establish and lead cross functional initiatives (projects, workshops, transformation workstreams, implementation, digitalization, including AI) to deliver standardized and effective processes, operating models, and ways of working. The scope will include the Technology Transfer group as well as MSAT support for the External Manufacturing and Supply organization. Outcomes should deliver a clear and sustainable improvement in team performance and impact. This role will establish durable governance forums and establish and oversee methodologies for resource management and deployment and measurement and reporting of team deliverables.  This position will also coordinate efforts for Technology Transfers and EM&S support related to Strategic Planning and Budget processes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide vision and leadership to a global group of expert Technology Transfer Leaders to deliver high value and impact to Sanofi

  • Drive a strong culture of execution using a “Thoughtful Risk Taking” framework to ensure Technology Transfer Leaders deliver Technology transfers on time and right first time across a range of Technology Transfer types across Manufacturing & Supply GBUs.

  • Establish and evolve a high performing, world class organization, developing and reinforcing knowledge and skill sets

  • Ensure consistent application and continuous improvement of the Technology Transfer framework to deliver on time and right first time Technology Transfers

  • Establish and oversee governance and reporting to ensure timely and thorough measurement, tracking and problem solving of Technology Transfer activities

  • Bring deep technical and leadership expertise to identify technical, operational and organizational gaps and drive innovate solutions with a one Sanofi mindset across programs and organizational boundaries

  • Contribute in an expert and leadership capacity to benchmarking and performance KPIs

  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement of the Technology Transfer and Launch Engine framework by relentlessly driving a “break the glass” mindset

  • Establish strong partnerships with stakeholders ranging from R&D to internal and external Operations

  • Establish, lead and deliver cross functional initiatives to implement and/or improve the effectiveness of operating models, governances and ways of working

  • Work with External Manufacturing and Supply leadership to establish and sustain effective governance, measurement and reporting to drive MSAT performance

  • Establish and maintenance governance, measurement and reporting systems to ensure team performance and impact

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience: Leadership positions in Biologics Operations, MSAT, Technology Transfer, Process and plant start up, Portfolio management and continuous improvement

  • Soft skills: Delivering results through team performance, agility and problem solving, strong drive for efficiency and continuous improvement, ability to establish partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders

  • Technical skills: E2E Biologics Operations, DS and DP manufacturing, Technology Transfer, CMC, Process Validation

  • Education: MS or PhD in Life Sciences or Engineering in Biologics related field

  • Languages: English, French
